Excerpt From April 22nd, 2025
This morning felt like something out of a dream.
We woke up in the still-dark silence, guided only by starlight and the faint promise of dawn. The red earth beneath our feet and the silhouettes of towering rock formations surrounded us as we made our way along the trail to Devil’s Bridge. Every step felt purposeful—as if the desert itself was waking with us.
And then, the moment. The sun began to rise, casting golden light across Sedona’s rust-colored cliffs. When we finally reached the bridge, breathless and quiet, the world paused. Standing on that natural arch, with nothing but the sky above and canyon below, I felt small in the most beautiful, freeing way.
Nature has a way of humbling you, of reminding you what really matters. It was more than a hike. It was a reset. A reminder of how sacred the world can be when you slow down enough to witness it.
Grateful for this place, this morning, this moment.

A little about this hike and formation:
The Devil’s Bridge hike in Sedona, Arizona, is one of the most iconic trails in the area and for good reason. The journey begins through a mix of red dirt roads, desert brush, and towering junipers. Depending on where you start (Dry Creek Road or Mescal Trail), the hike ranges from 2 to 4 miles round-trip and is considered moderate, with a short but steep rock scramble near the end.
As you ascend, the red rock formations open up to reveal sweeping vistas of Sedona’s rugged beauty. But the real highlight is Devil’s Bridge itself a massive natural sandstone arch that stretches majestically over a dramatic drop-off. Standing on the bridge offers an adrenaline rush and an unparalleled panoramic view of red cliffs, distant mesas, and endless desert skies.
It’s the kind of place where you want to pause, breathe it all in, and let the silence speak for itself.
If you are ever in the Sedona area I recommend this hike, it has gorgeous landscape and if you go early enough you will not have to wait to take a picture. Everyone is typically so kind about taking turns and taking the picture for you! I think that is a type of kindness you rarely see and it was the icing on top of the experience.
