Self Publishing vs. Traditional Publishing
Self-publishing and traditional publishing each offer distinct advantages and challenges, and the right choice depends largely on an author’s goals, resources, and preferences. Self-publishing provides authors with complete creative control over their work, including decisions about content, cover design, pricing, and release timing. It also offers significantly higher royalty rates—sometimes up to 70%—and a much…
Rewriting My Future
My daughter and I are a family. We are stable and loving and just enough the way we are. We don’t need anyone else to make us complete. Don’t get me wrong I still value marriage and if someone down the road compliments my lifestyle then they are welcome to join me in my journey. I dislike the idea that I have to be with someone or seeing or sleeping with someone in order to be valued or worthy of conversation. I want people to ask me about me and what I am doing, not who.
Misunderstood.
Sometimes the people you want to be part of your story are only meant to be a chapter. I love when book characters are human. As a lover of fantasy novels and series, I don’t particularly mean human, human. Though, I love regular human books too. I mean when the characters are real. When they’re…
Anxiety & Depression
Anxiety can be described as a feeling of fear, dread and uneasiness. Depression is the persistent sadness and lack of interest or pleasure in previously rewarding or enjoyable activities. Anxiety is a normal reaction to stress. It’s involved in your flight or fight response when handling fear. It is meant to help you cope, for…
Unequally Yoked.
When dating, you want your partner to be your equal, not the same as you per say but have the same goals and future desires as you. To be equally yoked goes far deeper than just interests and hobbies and housework duties. It’s more about how you two are on a spiritual, moral, life goal level.
Create More. Worry Less.
Creativity is a unique ability. It wasn’t until recently that I realized this. It’s so easy for me to recognize other people’s ability but really hard for me to acknowledge my own. Have you ever heard of imposter syndrome? If you’ve been on social media lately I’m sure you have come across someone who claims…
Q&A: Writing Edition
Here’s a few little questions and answers I did based on my Instagram story I posted. I thought this would be a fun thing to do! What inspired you to start writing? When I was younger, I started a dream journal. I would, and still do, have very vivid dreams and I would always wake…
Reading Challenge Update:
I challenged myself to read 50 books this year.
Last year I challenged myself to read 25 and ended up with 40, so this year I shot high to hope for the best.
I use Goodreads to help be track my progress.
I don’t really consider myself a fast reader, especially if I get really into a series, I try to stretch it out as much as possible with those. But I do tend to read more than one book at a time depending on what I am doing and what mood I am in. Sometimes I struggle with reading really emotional books, and I lean more toward gentler, easy reads. Other times I want horror and tragedy and thriller. It truly just depends.
