The Best Baked Mac & Cheese


  • 2 tbsp of butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 12-16 oz Macaroni pasta
  • salt & pepper to taste


Preheat oven to 375. Grease a 13×9 casserole dish. Boil pasta. In a medium sauce pan melt butter, add flour until thickened, stir in milk and stir continuously until all combined. To the saucepan add salt & pepper and stir in 2 cups of shredded cheese a little at a time as it’s melting (such as add cheese, stir, add more cheese, stir, etc.). Put the finished pasta in the casserole dish and pour the pre-made cheese sauce on the pasta and mix well. Sprinkle the rest of the cheese on top. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. After thirty minutes, remove aluminum foil and brown top.
