19 Daily Habit Ideas for a Good Life

1. Wake up & go to bed early.

More rest = more energy. If you get into the routine of waking up early and going to bed early you are more likely to have a better sleeping pattern which makes you more energetic throughout the day, helping you accomplish your goals and tasks in a faster and more productive way.

2. Make your bed every morning.

For one this personally gives me a feeling of accomplishment. It may seem too small of a task to matter much, but starting my day by making my bed gives me a sense of accomplishment. Taking a few minutes of your time every morning can ignite a positive tone for the rest of the day

3. Drink a big glass of WATER as soon as you wake up.

Not only is thins important for rehydration after 8 long hours of sleep. Drinking a glass or two of water in the morning acts as a wake-up charge and provides a boost of energy and will get you up and moving faster in the morning.

4. Work out until you SWEAT.

There are three random health benefits that I know from sweating during exercise one and the most obvious I feel like is how the circulation increases throughout our organs, muscles, and tissue during periods of excessive heat/sweating. The other most obvious one that we may all have heard is our skin releasing toxins such as alcohol and waste products, which helps our body detoxify. But one random one that I heard from a urologist is the elimination of salt from the body can help prevent kidney stones from forming and who wants kidney stones?? Not me.

5. Morning & evening meditation

I don’t always do this but I have heard of so many different benefits from it. I have always heard you should do it right when you wake up and right before you go to bed. Advantages of meditating in the morning: you are more well rested, refreshed, and probably less things are going on in your mind. You also set a better tone for your day. Advantages of meditating at night: you will have much better sleep

6. Put on clothes that make you FEEL GOOD, even if you are at home today.

Science says that the clothes we wear affect our behavior, attitudes, personality, mood, confidence, and even the way we interact with others

7. Post a thought online.

A short blog post, creative idea or even a picture. Sharing posts, ideas or pictures can help us release inner feelings and get feedback from others that we may need. It never hurts to get a different perspective on things.

8. DECLUTTER 1 item everyday

It’s so much easier to be clean and tidy when you tackle those places in your home that’s simply full of clutter. Sometimes I look at places and don’t even realize how much stuff piled up there. This simple task can help reduce stress and anxiety. Improve your sleep and even help boost your productivity and creativity

9. Review the day what worked and what didn’t work.

I do this every day on the way home from work. You give yourself props for what you did do, figure out what you missed and what you could have done better. Then you’re done. You don’t need to keep reliving the event and what could’ve been done differently. Helps me release and realize where I am in life and how I can improve.

10. Gratitude- think of three things that you appreciate in your life.

Each day for at least one week, write down three things that went well for you today, … by writing them down; it is not enough simply to do this exercise in your head. To make this exercise part of your daily routine, some find that writing before bed is helpful

11. Give a smile or a compliment to a stranger

It never hurts to be nice to other people and letting people know when you appreciate something. Who knows maybe you can make someones day.

12. Make a list for tomorrow to clear you mind before you go to sleep.

Making lists can sometimes help you visualize what you want. Organizing your tasks with a list can make everything much more manageable and make you feel grounded.

13. Come up with 5 new ideas.

Constantly coming up with new ideas even small ones can help make you feel more productive!

14. Make a plan for your day.

For me if I plan out my day it makes me feel more confident on how the day is going to roll.

15. Write our your GOALS to remind yourself what you’re working for.

This is so important to me. I have so many ideas flowing in my mind. It feel like it constantly moving so for me if I write my goals down it allows me to get a visual on what I need to do and how to prioritize them. I can then hang it up and have a constant reminder.

16. Spend an hour on your ONE thing.

Taking time to do something you love everyday that you can is so important. Weather it’s reading or painting or taking a bath doing something that makes your soul happy is so important.

17. Do one thing you’ve been putting off.

Procrastination happens to all of us. Weather it’s tackling that pile of clothes sitting in that random chair in your room or starting/finishing that house project. Sometimes doing that one thing that gives you slight anxiety can make your headspace a little more clear. I mean, it’s something you no longer have to think about once it’s finished.

18. Go outside for a walk.

Walking has so many more benefits than losing weight. It’s a way to get your blood flowing in your brain, ideas can start bubbling up. Plus, nothing is more relaxing than getting some fresh air and listening to the birds sing.

19. ONE hour of learning: books, podcasts, online courses.

Taking an hour to learn something new is something very important for your brain and can be ver beneficial in the long run. The world is so huge and there is so much knowledge out there that needs to be explored. Pick a niche and run with it.
